A Roster Steeped in League Experience
USA Hockey announced the 14‑player roster that will wear the red, white and blue at the 2026 Under‑17 Four Nations Tournament in Chomutov, Czechia. The selection underscores the league’s growing influence on the international stage.
The squad features a balanced mix of 12 forwards, six defensemen and two goaltenders, all of whom recently attended the USA Hockey Boys National 16 Development Camp. Their preparation reflects the league’s emphasis on elite competition and skill refinement.
The United States will open competition against Czechia, Slovakia and Switzerland, promising high‑stakes matchups on European ice. Each opponent brings a distinct style of play, setting the stage for a dynamic tournament.
What makes this group special is the heavy presence of United States Hockey League alumni. The USHL boasts that more than half of all NCAA Division I men’s hockey players have previously worn a USHL jersey, and nearly a quarter of current NHL skaters trace their roots to the league.
Since 2020 the league has produced over 315 direct NHL Draft selections, and nine of the past ten Hobey Baker Award winners earned their formative years in the USHL. These statistics illustrate the pathway from junior hockey to collegiate and professional success.
The development model emphasizes a 2:1 practice‑to‑game ratio, with 90 percent of contests scheduled on weekends to maximize player rest and family time. This structure supports both athletic performance and personal growth.
Among the selected prospects are names such as Rylan Aufderheide, Macklin Celebrini, Auston Matthews, Kyle Connor, Jeremy Swayman and Johnny Gaudreau, each bringing a blend of skill, experience and ambition to the tournament.
