Syracuse Women’s Ice Hockey Players Receive AHCA All-American Scholar Recognition

Ten student-athletes honored for academic performance and on-ice contributions

The American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA) has announced that ten members of the Syracuse University women's ice hockey roster have been selected as All-American Scholars, a distinction that underscores both academic achievement and athletic participation.

Scholar-Athlete Standards

To earn the honor, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum 3.75 grade point average each semester and be credited with appearing in at least 40 percent of the team's games during the season. The AHCA also extends exceptions to those who have missed time due to injury or who serve primarily as backup goalies.

The recognized players span the class spectrum, from freshman forward Emma Gnade and defender Rachel Walsh to senior leaders Maya D'Arcy, Charlotte Hallett, Heidi Knoll and Maïka Paquin. Also honored are sophomores Peyton Armstrong and Jessica Cheung, junior Nea Tervonen and Mik Todd, each bringing a blend of on-ice contribution and classroom dedication.

Conference Context

The accolade is limited to institutions that are members of the AHCA, a coalition that includes schools such as Mercyhurst University and Robert Morris University. This membership requirement ensures that the scholars represent a cross-section of competitive programs within the collegiate hockey landscape.

Syracuse's ten honorees place the program among the conference leaders in academic recognition, reflecting the university's commitment to developing student-athletes who excel both in the classroom and on the ice.
