Alabama State University announced that Chris Wright, its head men's basketball coach, has completed the roster for the upcoming 2026‑27 season, confirming a blend of continuity and fresh talent on the bench.
A Mix of Experience and Fresh Perspectives
The new assistants bring a diverse array of experiences, ranging from community‑college championship success to tenure at four‑year institutions across the country.
Among the additions are Drew Wilson, who previously guided Wallace State Community College to an Alabama Community College Conference title, and Mike Scott, a nine‑year veteran of Cal State Bakersfield who served as acting head coach and mentored multiple All‑Conference players.
Justin Graham, formerly at the University of Texas Permian Basin and Clarendon College, arrives after leading Clarendon to a 25‑5 record and a tournament berth, while Rosbie Mutcherson Jr. joins after stints at Central Georgia Technical College and Utah Valley, where he contributed to two NJCAA Elite Eight runs.
The coaching staff also retains James "JJ" Jackson and Damian Madison, ensuring that the program benefits from both new ideas and institutional knowledge.
