A Dual Legacy
Kyle Beaty, a former player for USC Upstate and a pivotal member of the Spartans’ 2025 Big South Championship team, has been appointed Director of Pitching Development under head coach Kane Sweeney. The promotion reflects both his on‑field achievements and his growing influence within the program.
Beaty’s playing career was marked by durability and clutch performances. He made 20 appearances, pitching 36.1 innings with a 5‑1 record in relief, and helped the team capture the Big South regular‑season and tournament titles before advancing to the NCAA Clemson Regional.
During his tenure as a student assistant in 2026, Beaty contributed to a sixth straight 30‑win season and oversaw a pitching staff that posted a 3.77 ERA over the final month of the regular season. Under his guidance, the staff ranked in the top half of the Big South in six statistical categories and earned five weekly conference awards.
A native of Dacula, Georgia, Beaty graduated from USC Upstate in 2025 and remains deeply connected to the university community. His transition from player to development leader illustrates a full‑circle story that blends personal experience with strategic vision for the program’s future.
