Sedin Twins to Face Off in Annual Grouse Grind Charity Challenge

Daniel and Henrik Sedin will race Vancouver’s famed mountain trail to support their family foundation

A Mountaintop Rivalry for a Good Cause

On September 27, 2026, the Vancouver Canucks will stage a charity showdown that pits co‑Presidents of Hockey Operations Daniel Sedin and Henrik Sedin against each other on the iconic Grouse Grind.

The Grouse Grind, a 2.5‑kilometre ascent that climbs more than 800 metres, has long served as a rite of passage for Vancouver’s hockey prospects, testing both endurance and determination.

The twins have a longstanding relationship with the trail; Daniel once completed it eleven times in a single day, and the pair famously out‑paced the entire 2024 development camp class during a previous attempt.

All money raised from the ‘Sedin vs. Sedin Grouse Grind’ challenge will be donated to the Sedin Family Foundation, which supports children’s health and education programs in the Lower Mainland.

Fans who wish to take part can sign up for early access at grousemountain.com, where registration will open in the coming weeks.
