Grace Campbell Signs with Toronto Sceptres as PWHL Prepares for Expanded Fourth Season

The Boston College legend joins the growing league, joining a roster that includes former collegiate stars and new franchises.

Grace Campbell, the Boston College goaltender who ranked second in program history for saves, has signed a one‑year Standard Player Agreement with the Toronto Sceptres of the Professional Women’s Hockey League.

During her final collegiate season she stopped 1,129 shots, posting a .926 save percentage and a 2.35 goals‑against average, achievements that earned her the Hockey East Three Stars Award in both her junior and senior years.

Campbell will vie for a starting role with Raygan Kirk, the 2024 national champion and tournament most outstanding player, and Jessie McPherson, an undrafted free‑agent who debuted with Toronto in November 2025.

She will also be reunited with former Boston College captain Kali Flanagan, while sharing a collegiate background with Abbey Leavy, who also passed through Shattuck St. Mary’s before reaching the PWHL.

The PWHL’s New Frontier

The Sceptres’ signing comes as the league prepares for its fourth season, which will feature four new franchises in Detroit, Hamilton, Las Vegas and San Jose, expanding the league’s footprint across North America.

Founded by Mark Walter and his wife Kimbra Walter, the PWHL aims to provide a financially sustainable platform for women’s hockey, building on the success of previous seasons and the growing interest in the sport.
