Prague Baseball Week is back for its 45th edition, cementing its status as Europe’s premier annual international baseball tournament.
A Milestone Tournament
The competition is divided into two four‑team pools. Pool A gathers the continent’s strongest clubs, while Pool B features a mix of rising nations.
Pool A will showcase Czechia, Chinese Taipei, Germany and the Netherlands, whereas Pool B includes Belgium, Croatia, Slovakia and Switzerland, the defending champion.
Key Players to Watch
Czechia’s Milan Prokop is a central figure, ranking second in the Czech Extraliga for on‑base plus slugging and tied for third in home runs. Germany returns as the reigning champion, anchored by pitcher Jona Widmann and hitter William Germaine. The Netherlands makes its debut, with Shervyen Newton and Thijs Helms leading the charge. Chinese Taipei’s Min‑Sih Chen provides the team’s primary power threat, and Yi‑Wei Lin is slated as the top starter. In Pool B, Switzerland’s Fabio Bundi is regarded as the premier pitching talent and is expected to compete at the Division I level in 2027.
With a blend of seasoned veterans and fresh talent, the tournament promises intense competition and a showcase of Europe’s growing baseball landscape.
