FIBA has officially confirmed that 24 national teams will contest the second round of the European qualifiers for the 2027 Basketball World Cup, the decisive stage that will determine which squads join the tournament in Qatar.
The competition is organized into four groups of six, with matches scheduled to unfold during three international windows in August 2026, November 2026 and February 2027, giving each side multiple chances to secure a place in the final lineup.

The eight teams eliminated in the first round will now enter the FIBA EuroBasket 2029 pre‑qualifiers, while the top three finishers from each group will advance to the World Cup, which is set to run from August 27 to September 12, 2027, in Qatar.
