The University of Florida announced this week that Todd Butler, a veteran baseball coach with nearly three decades of collegiate experience, has been added to its coaching roster as an assistant.
A distinguished career
Butler’s journey spans stints at Oklahoma, Alabama, Arkansas and Missouri, where he helped guide the Oklahoma Sooners to a 2026 College World Series championship and oversaw the development of ten top‑10 recruiting classes and 39 All‑American players.
His reputation for cultivating talent is underscored by a track record of turning programs into contenders and producing players who excel at the highest levels of the sport.
A strategic replacement
The move follows the departure of Taylor Black, who accepted a similar position at NC State, and the simultaneous hiring of Rich Dorman, formerly the pitching coach at Oregon State, to complete the staff.
Looking ahead
Florida’s baseball program hopes Butler’s championship pedigree will translate into continued success on the national stage, as the Gators aim to remain a fixture in the SEC’s elite tier.
