Tarleton State Women's Soccer announced this week that Chris Lawson and Sadé Boswell will join the program as assistant coaches, a move that underscores the university's commitment to elevating its women's soccer ambitions.
Coaching Backgrounds
Lawson, a Bryan College graduate with a business management degree, previously served as an assistant at UT Tyler Women's Soccer and head coach of Ouachita Baptist's men's soccer program, where he guided the team to its most successful season since 2018. He is recognized for his work with goalkeepers and his data‑driven approach to player development.
Boswell, born in Germany and raised in St. Robert, Missouri, brings a decade of collegiate experience, including a head‑coaching stint at Missouri Southern Women's Soccer and assistant roles at Midwestern State and Rose State College. During her tenure at Midwestern State, she helped the Mustangs post a 12‑5‑3 record in her final season, and she has coached several All‑American players at Rose State.
Both assistants share a deep connection to Texas recruiting, having spent significant time scouting and building relationships across the state. Their combined expertise is expected to strengthen the recruiting pipeline that has become a cornerstone of Tarleton State's growth strategy.
Lawson earned a master's degree in management at Doane, while Boswell holds a master's in educational administration from Northeastern State. Their academic backgrounds complement their coaching philosophies, blending analytical rigor with player‑centered leadership.
