The fifth edition of the Battle of the Badges is set to light up Citi Field on August 19, bringing together the FDNY Baseball Team and the NYPD in a charity showdown that caps a day of baseball at the ballpark.
The game will be part of a special single‑admission doubleheader, kicking off roughly an hour after the Mets take on the Padres, allowing fans to seamlessly transition from the major‑league matchup to the first‑responder contest.
All proceeds from the event will be directed to the FDNY Foundation, the nonprofit arm that supports the families and equipment needs of New York City’s bravest.
Tickets purchased for the Mets game automatically grant access to the Battle of the Badges, and select entry gates at the Jackie Robinson Rotunda will stay open through the conclusion of the Mets game to accommodate arriving fans.
A lineup of heroes takes the field
The rosters feature a mix of former professional and collegiate players who now serve as everyday heroes for the city, blending athletic skill with the spirit of public service.
Adding star power to the day, Mets Hall of Famer David Wright will help host the festivities, promising an unforgettable experience for supporters and participants alike.
