The Cohansey Premier Soccer Club is carrying a heavy heart as it honors the memory of Coach Dan Sepers, who died suddenly last year at the age of 41. His legacy lives on through the players who wore his guidance on the field and the community that rallied around his family.
At the start of the season the squad unveiled custom patches bearing the phrase "Do it for Dan" and a wrist tape marked with the initials "L.L.D." — "Long Live Dan" — a tribute that has become a rallying cry for the team. Jake Sepers, the coach’s son, has been a constant presence, embodying his father's spirit each time he steps onto the pitch.
A Season of Remembrance
Beyond the emotional gestures, the club has transformed Dan’s scholarship program for graduating students into a memorial fund that supports young athletes pursuing higher education. The initiative not only preserves his educational vision but also raises money to send the team to the national championships in Utah later this year.
The upcoming competition, scheduled for July 13‑23, 2026, marks the team’s second national championship appearance this year. Fundraisers, community events and merchandise sales have already begun, with every contribution aimed at covering travel and accommodation costs for the players.
Organizers say the fundraiser reflects a broader desire to celebrate Dan’s impact on and off the field, turning grief into a unifying force that will carry the club through the remainder of the season.
