Hurricanes Eye 2026‑27 Campaign
The Carolina Hurricanes are gearing up for the 2026‑27 season, bringing a roster that management describes as one of the strongest in recent memory. With a blend of veteran talent and promising youngsters, the team hopes to build on last year’s playoff run and contend for the Stanley Cup.
General Manager Eric Tulsky has been vocal about the squad’s depth, noting that the club will rely on both internal development and strategic additions as the roster takes shape.
Injury Updates and Return Timelines
Forward Seth Jarvis is expected to miss the opening stretch of the regular season after undergoing offseason shoulder surgery. Tulsky indicated that Jarvis will be out for approximately four to six months, with a return likely sometime after the calendar turns to the new year.
Eric Robinson also faced a setback, having undergone knee surgery at the end of June. The forward is projected to be ready for training camp in September, giving him a realistic chance to contribute early in the campaign.
Tulsky highlighted Bradly Nadeau as a potential call‑up should the Hurricanes need extra depth at the start of the season, while defenseman Juuso Valimaki is being considered for a spot on the blue line after a strong performance with the Chicago Wolves in the AHL. If veteran defenseman Mike Reilly signs elsewhere in free agency, Valimaki could be first in line for the opening‑night pairing.
The Chicago Wolves, the Hurricanes’ AHL affiliate, are also shaping their roster for the upcoming year. Forwards David Gagnon and Ethan Leyh have already secured American Hockey League contracts, ensuring continuity in the farm system as the parent club evaluates options for its top prospects.
