Rutgers University has unveiled its 2026 men’s soccer slate, a 16‑match schedule that promises a blend of home comforts and road tests across the country. The campaign kicks off on August 20 with a home clash against American University, and the Scarlet Knights will enjoy nine contests on their own turf at Yurcak Field.
The first five home fixtures read like a mini‑tournament, pitting Rutgers against Sacred Heart, Seton Hall, UC Santa Barbara, UCLA and Princeton, each of which brings its own storylines and ambitions. These early games will set the tone for a season that aims to build on the program’s recent progress.
A Challenging Road Ahead
Beyond the home front, the schedule features six opponents that reached the NCAA tournament a year ago, among them Washington, Michigan, Indiana, Princeton, Georgetown and Maryland. Washington captured the national championship last season, adding extra intrigue to the encounter, while Michigan and Indiana bring additional depth to the slate.
Rutgers finished the previous year with an 8‑6‑3 record, a .500 conference mark, and will look to build on that foundation as they navigate a demanding calendar. The mix of experienced tournament teams and fresh home matchups creates a narrative that fans will follow closely throughout the fall.
