A Dual-Threat Performer
The Rochester Redhawks improved to 14-5 overall and 6-2 in Section 1 with a 9-6 victory over Byron on Monday night, a performance that underscored the team’s depth and resilience.
Central to the win was Colton Brandt, who delivered a two-run single, crossed the plate twice, and then shifted to the mound to pitch five solid innings of relief. His effort on the hill included allowing just one run on three hits while striking out six batters.
At the plate, George Restovich led the Redhawks with a 3-for-4 performance that featured a double, an RBI, and a run scored. Jack Ryan added a double and three RBIs, driving in crucial runs during the middle innings.
Looking Ahead to Tuesday
Coach Tom Senne praised Brandt’s ability to spark the team, noting that his timely hitting and steady pitching helped the club escape several tight spots. The Redhawks are scheduled to travel to Eagan on Tuesday, where they will meet again at 5 p.m. for the next chapter of their season.
