Mississippi State’s men’s basketball team has bolstered its nonconference slate with two new matchups, slated for November 9 against Jackson State and November 13 versus Xavier.

Rebuilding the Roster
Head coach Chris Jans is reshaping the squad through the NCAA transfer portal and a wave of high‑school recruits, aiming to restore the program’s former competitiveness.
The coaching staff will also welcome three new assistant coaches this offseason, a move intended to provide depth as the team integrates fresh talent.
The season will open on November 2 with a home game against Tennessee Tech, before traveling to face Georgia Tech in the SEC/ACC Challenge and taking on Northwestern State and Alabama A&M in the early weeks. Additional early‑season contests include a matchup against Marquette.
