The Worthington Post 5 18U baseball squad concluded its home schedule with a decisive 12‑2 victory over Jackson, improving to 4‑7 on the season and snapping a three‑game losing streak.
Ethan Anderson’s Dual Impact
Anderson delivered a standout performance, striking out two batters while allowing just three hits over six innings, and then went 3‑for‑3 at the plate with three RBIs and a run scored.
Worthington struck first in the bottom of the third inning, plating two runs on a 2‑RBI single from Anderson and a RBI single from Keagan McCuen.
The offense kept building momentum, and in the fifth inning Wyatt Petersen hit a 2‑RBI triple that pushed the lead to 9‑1, while Brayden Raymo followed with a double that scored two more runs before he stole home to end the game early.
Jackson managed a solitary RBI fly out in the fourth, but the combined effort of Petersen, Dominic Pavelko, Gavin Bell and Christian Dailey added the remaining hits that contributed to the 11‑run outburst.
Raymo finished the game with two hits and three RBIs, and Logan Kerkaert drew two walks, underscoring the depth of the lineup.
The team will next travel to Redwood Falls on Monday, July 13, before closing the regular season against Mankato National Legion on July 15.
With the win, the Post 5 squad looks to carry this momentum into the final stretch of the schedule, hoping to finish the summer on a high note.
