The GlenOak Golden Eagles are set to kick off the 2026 high school football season on August 21, marking the start of a new chapter after a 2‑8 record a year ago.
Division I, Region 1 Challenge
Competing in Division I, Region 1, the team will face a rigorous slate that tests both depth and resilience.
The upcoming schedule features matchups against traditional foes such as Dover, Massillon and Canton McKinley, as well as non‑conference tests from Cleveland Heights, Lake, Hoover, Green, Jackson, Louisville and Perry.
OHSAA’s state playoffs are slated to begin on October 30, 2026, with the championship games scheduled for early December at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton, giving the Eagles a clear target on the calendar.
In 2025 the Eagles managed victories over Cleveland East Tech and Mansfield Senior, but fell in every other contest, a pattern that the coaching staff hopes to reverse through intensified preparation and a focus on consistency.
Fans and alumni are already marking their calendars, hopeful that the combination of experience and fresh strategy will translate into a winning season and a deeper run in the postseason.
