A New Era for Hockey Governance
The International Hockey Federation (FIH) has unveiled FIH Connect, a digital platform designed to tighten the bond between the world governing body, continental federations and national associations. Spearheaded by FIH President Tayyab Ikram, the initiative seeks to make communication faster, clearer and more inclusive.
FIH Connect brings together a suite of tools that were previously scattered across multiple channels. Users can now receive instant updates, exchange messages directly with peers, and access a single repository for all official documents. The platform is presented in English, French, Spanish and Russian, ensuring that stakeholders across continents can navigate it with ease.
Access is simple. A dedicated mobile app and a web interface are both available, allowing representatives to stay connected whether they are on the field, in a meeting or traveling. Registration is currently open to key officials from each National Association, inviting them to become part of the new ecosystem.
Impact on the Global Hockey Community
Beyond convenience, the platform is expected to foster a more collaborative environment. By centralising communication, FIH aims to reduce delays, avoid misinterpretations and create a shared sense of purpose among the sport’s diverse stakeholders. Early adopters have praised the streamlined workflow and the ability to engage in multilingual dialogue.
