LSU Freshmen Earn SEC Academic Honor Roll Honors

Sariyah Bailey and Lila Jaillet celebrated for scholarship and sport performance

A Dual Triumph

The Southeastern Conference recently announced its 2025‑26 First‑Year Academic Honor Roll, a list that celebrates student‑athletes who balance rigorous competition with strong scholarship. To qualify, participants must carry a minimum 3.0 GPA and complete at least 24 semester hours of coursework.

LSU Soccer entered two freshmen on that distinguished roster. Sariyah Bailey, a Sport Administration major concentrating on Sport Commerce, and Lila Jaillet, also pursuing a Sport Administration degree with the same concentration, were both selected for the honor.

On the Field and in the Classroom

Bailey’s impact transcended the classroom. She appeared in every one of LSU’s 25 matches during the historic Sweet 16 run, starting 19 of them, and ranked third on the team with nine goals while tying for the team lead with seven assists. Her performances earned her All‑SEC and All‑Freshman honors, as well as spots on the Top Drawer Soccer Freshman Best XI Second Team and the Midseason Top 100 Freshmen list.

Jaillet, though never taking the pitch in 2025, still met the academic standards required for the honor roll. Her dedication to her studies reflects the program’s emphasis on preparing athletes for life beyond the game.

A Culture of Excellence

The recognition of Bailey and Jaillet illustrates LSU Soccer’s broader philosophy that success is measured not only by trophies but also by scholarly achievement. The university’s commitment to integrating sport commerce into the curriculum provides a framework that many programs aspire to emulate.

Looking forward, the duo’s dual accolades signal a promising future for the program. As they continue to develop both their athletic prowess and academic expertise, they embody the kind of well‑rounded leaders the SEC hopes to cultivate.
