Generals Earn Record 125 VaSID All-State Honors
Washington and Lee University’s athletic program celebrated a historic 2025‑26 season, amassing 125 VaSID All‑State selections — the most ever for the school.
The accolades spanned 21 of the 22 sports the Generals field, with every eligible team represented on the All‑State lists.
A Sweep of Major Awards
The department also captured 27 major awards, including eight Player‑of‑the‑Year recognitions, ten Rookie‑of‑the‑Year selections and nine Coach‑of‑the‑Year honors.
These distinctions underscored the breadth of excellence across the university’s varsity squads.
Learfield Directors' Cup Triumph
The Generals posted a school‑record 803.75 points in the Learfield Directors' Cup, eclipsing the previous high of 791.5 set just a year earlier.
The total placed Washington and Lee 12th nationally among Division III programs, matching the program’s best finish achieved in 2018 and 2022.
The performance marked the department’s highest‑ever finish in the Cup’s history and the first time the team crossed the 800‑point threshold.
The VaSID All‑State teams, which honor the Commonwealth’s top collegiate performers after each season, highlighted the depth of talent across the university’s athletic landscape.
