A New Chapter for Beeville Baseball
Lee Yeager has been appointed as the new Assistant Athletic Director and baseball head coach for the Beeville Trojans, taking over from retired coach Ricardo Vasquez. The school district announced the hiring this week, highlighting Yeager’s three‑decade track record and more than 700 career victories.
Yeager arrives after a distinguished stint at Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial, where he guided the team to the UIL 5A State Semifinal in 2018 and compiled a reputation for developing talent that reaches the professional ranks.
A Career Defined by Excellence
From 2000 to 2014 he led the Carroll Tigers, capturing a state championship in 2010 and guiding the squad to three consecutive state tournament appearances from 2010 through 2012. That roster included future MLB first‑round draft pick Courtney Hawkins.
Before his high school coaching career, Yeager played collegiately at Stephen F. Austin University, earning a bachelor’s degree and serving four seasons as a Lumberjacks pitcher, followed by two years as an assistant coach.
Looking Ahead to the Season
The Trojans will compete in UIL 4A District 31 against Alice, Calallen, Tuloso‑Midway, H.M. King, Robstown and others, a schedule that promises fresh rivalries as the program looks to build on its recent momentum.
In recognition of his contributions, Yeager received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Corpus Christi Hooks’ Winter Baseball Banquet, underscoring his lasting impact on the local baseball community.
