Michael Tang, a 2009-born forward, has officially signed a standard player agreement with the Niagara IceDogs for the 2026‑2027 Ontario Hockey League season, marking the next step in his professional development.
The contract follows his selection in the fourth round of the 2025 OHL Priority Selection, where he was chosen 78th overall by the IceDogs, a testament to his rising prospect status.
A Versatile Talent
Before joining the IceDogs, Tang spent the previous season with the Madison Capitals of the United States Hockey League, recording 27 points in 57 games and showcasing his offensive versatility.
On the international stage, he represented the United States at the U17 World Junior Championships, gaining valuable experience and exposing his talents to a broader audience.
IceDogs general manager Dale DeGray praised Tang, describing him as a smart, highly‑skilled and versatile player who should add depth and flexibility to the team's lineup.
Off the ice, Tang has committed to attending Harvard University, where he will continue his development in the NCAA, balancing his hockey ambitions with academic pursuits in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
