Section 5 Playoff Victory
The Township Little League Junior Baseball team posted a 15‑3 win over Dingman Delaware on Tuesday, moving one step closer to the championship series.
The offense struck first in the second inning, drawing three walks that set the tone. Jordan Tonte’s single to center brought the first run across, giving Township an early edge.
The decisive moment arrived in the fifth inning, where Township erupted for 11 runs. Michael Larkin’s two walks and subsequent score, Jonah Rowlands’ RBI single, and Emil Diaz’s walk all fueled the surge, while Tonte’s clutch hit drove in three runs to seal the rally.
On the mound, Joey Racavitch was superb, limiting Dingman Delaware to three hits and three runs — none earned — over five innings, preserving the lead while the bats did the heavy lifting.
With the victory, Township will now meet Hazle Twp./Freeland in the next round, a matchup that could define the team’s playoff destiny.
