The Rochester Red Wings are preparing to add a new chapter to their Walk of Fame next year, honoring the Hobart College hockey teams that have dominated Division III competition in recent seasons.
A Three‑Year Reign
Under the guidance of head coach Mark Taylor, the Hobart squads captured three straight NCAA Division III national titles from 2023 through 2025, compiling an 86‑3‑2 overall record in the process.
The teams also secured three consecutive New England Hockey Conference championships, finishing that stretch with a 50‑4‑2 mark in league play.
During the championship run, Hobart players amassed eight All‑America honors and 20 all‑conference selections, underscoring the program’s depth and consistency.
Coach Mark Taylor’s Impact
Mark Taylor became the first Division III men’s hockey coach to win three straight national titles, earning national coach of the year honors in both 2023 and 2024.
His leadership not only placed Hobart on the national map but also marked the first time a Hobart and William Smith team received this particular recognition.
The induction ceremony will take place before a game against the Syracuse Mets at ESL Ballpark, blending the city’s baseball tradition with a celebration of collegiate hockey excellence.
The honor marks the inaugural inclusion of a Hobart and William Smith team on the ESL Ballpark Walk of Fame, joining six other individuals with ties to the colleges who have previously been recognized.
