Pleasantville’s baseball team kicked off its Class 2A Substate 5 campaign with a dominant 11‑1 victory over Centerville on Tuesday night, a performance that showcased both pitching depth and offensive firepower.
Right‑hander Brayden Kennedy turned in a complete‑game effort, surrendering just one unearned run while striking out eight batters and limiting Centerville to five hits over five innings.
The Trojans’ bats were equally relentless. Logan Roff went 2‑for‑3 with three runs batted in, while JJ Phillips matched him with a 2‑for‑2 line and three RBI. Kennedy himself added a double and three RBI, finishing 2‑for‑2 at the plate.
