Ferris State Hockey Team Celebrates Academic Excellence with Krampade All-American Scholars

Thirteen players earn national recognition for maintaining a 3.75 GPA while meeting rigorous game participation standards.

Ferris State University announced that thirteen members of its men’s hockey program have been selected as Krampade All-American Scholars, a distinction that underscores the team’s commitment to academic achievement.

To earn the honor, each student-athlete must have earned a 3.75 grade point average across both semesters and have appeared in at least 40 percent of the team’s games during the season. The association does make allowances for players who miss time due to injury or who serve primarily as backup goalies.

The award is presented by Krampade, a Lincoln, Nebraska company that specializes in preventing cramp-related injuries, adding a corporate dimension to the recognition.

The American Hockey Coaches Association, which administers the scholarship, comprises a broad network of coaches, referees, administrators, sales representatives, journalists and fans across professional, junior, high school and youth hockey levels.

University officials praised the honorees for balancing the rigors of collegiate athletics with demanding academic workloads, noting that the achievement reflects both personal discipline and institutional support.

Coach comments highlighted the players’ work ethic, while the university plans to showcase their stories in upcoming campus events, reinforcing the message that success in hockey and scholarship can coexist.
