Season Opener on the Road
Indiana State’s women’s basketball program announced its full non‑conference schedule for the 2026‑27 campaign, a slate that blends five home contests with seven away games. The season will begin with a three‑game road trip, starting November 2 at Northern Illinois.
Early November will see the Sycamores travel to New Jersey for matchups against Seton Hall and Rutgers, before returning to Bloomington for the first home game on November 10 against IU Indy. The non‑conference slate wraps up with three consecutive road games in December, rounding out a demanding early stretch.
This year’s roster brings 13 newcomers, hailing from ten different states, adding depth and fresh talent to the program. Alongside the newcomers, key returners Jayci Allen and Amerie Flowers are expected to anchor the team’s offense and rebounding.
Allen, who averaged 9.4 points and 4.1 rebounds per game in the 2025‑26 season, and Flowers, who posted 7.9 points and 5.9 rebounds per game last year, will be joined by a host of new faces looking to make an immediate impact.
Coach Marc Mitchell praised the blend of experience and youthful energy, noting that the schedule provides ample opportunities for the team to test its mettle against a variety of opponents before conference play begins.
