Schuylkill County’s baseball talent was celebrated this week as nine local players earned spots on the 2026 Pennsylvania State Baseball Coaches Association All‑State teams. The selections were announced by the association, which recognizes the state’s top high school athletes across multiple classifications.
Leading the honorees, Shenandoah Valley senior infielder Chase McCole and Tri‑Valley sophomore pitcher Peyton Schley were named to the Class AA First Team, a testament to their standout performances this season.
Nativity BVM’s Stephen Karinch also received first‑team accolades, earning a spot on the Class A First Team, while Nativity senior outfielder Trey Keating was placed on the Class A Second Team.
Additional recognitions came from Williams Valley, Minersville and Schuylkill Haven, whose players were selected to the Class AA Second Team. Freshman pitcher Cayden Witmer and sophomore catcher Fletcher Thompson from Williams Valley, senior infielder Nolan Plesnarski from Minersville, and infielders Alan Evans and Chase Yoder from Schuylkill Haven round out the second‑team roster.
The Pennsylvania State Baseball Coaches Association, which administers the All‑State selections, highlighted the breadth of talent across the county, noting that the honorees reflect a strong pipeline of development in the region’s high school programs.
Local coaches praised the players’ dedication, pointing to rigorous training schedules and community support as key factors in their success. “These young men have worked tirelessly, and this recognition is well‑deserved,” said one coach who requested anonymity.
The selections were reported by the Republican Herald and are part of a broader effort to spotlight high school athletics in Pennsylvania. The full list of honorees can be found on the association’s website, psbca.org.
