Brooke Bryant Commits to PWHL San Jose for 2026‑27 Season

California’s first league player reunites with familiar faces as the Bay Area roster takes shape

The Professional Women's Hockey League announced today that forward Brooke Bryant has inked a contract to play for PWHL San Jose in the 2026‑27 season, marking a new chapter for both the player and the franchise.

Bryant, a native of Linden, California, arrives as the league’s inaugural player from the state, adding a regional star to a roster that already boasts a blend of seasoned veterans and emerging talent.

A Bay Area reunion

A three‑year PWHL veteran, Bryant previously captured back‑to‑back Walter Cups with Minnesota and logged five points in 57 appearances for the Minnesota Whitecaps before joining the Seattle Torrent in the 2025‑26 campaign.

Her collegiate career spanned five seasons at Minnesota State University, where she helped the Mavericks to multiple playoff runs, and she capped her international résumé with a gold medal at the 2024 Inline Hockey World Championship while representing Team USA.

Heading into the new season, San Jose will field a defensive core that includes Rory Guilday, Hadley Hartmetz, Mariah Keopple and Daniela Pejšová, while goaltenders Abbey Levy and Corinne Schroeder are expected to guard the net.

Bryant will also reunite with several former Seattle teammates, becoming the seventh forward from that club to sign with the Bay Area franchise, a move that has generated excitement among the coaching staff and fans alike.

General manager Anne Cherkowski praised the addition, noting that Bryant’s experience and community roots align perfectly with the team’s vision for sustained competitiveness.

The signing brings the total number of commitments to thirteen, positioning PWHL San Jose as a formidable contender as the league expands its footprint across North America.
