Missouri’s basketball program has locked in its 2026‑27 roster, completing a busy offseason of moves that culminates with the addition of guard Cord Stansberry from Western Carolina.
A Strategic Addition
Stansberry, a 6‑foot‑4 guard who still has one year of eligibility remaining, arrives after a season in which he posted 14.1 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game while shooting 35.9% from the field and 29.6% from three‑point range.
Coaches see him as a versatile piece who can provide depth at the wing and help bridge the gap as the Tigers transition from the Southern Conference to the SEC.
The move comes after three guards departed the program, leaving the backcourt thin, and Stansberry joins a group that already includes transfers such as Bryson Tiller, Jaylen Carey, Jamier Jones, Kennard Davis Jr., Jordan Crawford, Anthony Robinson II, T.O. Barrett and Sebastian Mack.
With the new addition the team reaches the NCAA‑mandated maximum of 15 scholarship players, a milestone that signals the end of roster construction and sets the stage for the first SEC campaign under head coach Dennis Gates.
