A striking public art installation is now dotting the streets of New York City and New Jersey, where 23 outsized soccer balls have taken up residence.
The works belong to the Art of the Game project, a celebration of the World Cup mounted by the nonprofit ARTS 14C, headquartered in Jersey City.
Each sculpture is a one‑of‑a‑kind creation forged from aluminum and stainless steel, giving the pieces a sleek, reflective quality that catches the eye of passersby.

The exhibition will remain on view through September 7th, allowing commuters and tourists alike to experience the blend of sport and design.
While a dozen of the balls are slated to become permanent fixtures in the city and the Garden State, the remaining eleven will be offered for private sale or auction, giving collectors a chance to own a piece of the project.
Brooklyn‑based artist Wyatt Kahn contributed to the effort, drawing on the iconic front gates of homes around the world as a visual reference that ties personal space to communal play.
Beyond aesthetics, the initiative seeks to forge a lasting bridge between the worlds of art and athletics, using the universal language of soccer to spark dialogue about public space, community identity, and the power of creative collaboration.
