Nick Chaykowsky has been appointed as the new head coach of the Women’s Basketball program at Crowley’s Ridge College, stepping into the role after Austin Harrell’s single‑season tenure.
A New Era for CRC Women’s Basketball
Chaykowsky arrives with a distinguished track record, having guided Brescia University to back‑to‑back 20‑win seasons and a River States Conference West Division title last year. The 24‑8 record he posted in the 2024‑25 campaign included a 13‑3 conference slate, culminating in a first‑round appearance at the NAIA National Tournament.
His 36 years of coaching span both college and high school environments. He spent three seasons as head coach of the Brescia women’s program and accumulated 14 seasons as an assistant at the collegiate level, complemented by 19 years split between head and assistant roles at the high school tier.
Chaykowsky’s academic background includes a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Tampa, where he also played collegiately, and a Master of Science from Nova Southeastern University.
The college’s athletic director highlighted the blend of experience and proven winning culture that Chaykowsky brings, noting that his appointment signals a commitment to sustained competitiveness within the conference.
Looking Ahead
With the new coaching staff in place, CRC aims to build on the foundation laid by Harrell and to contend for conference honors in the upcoming season. The program’s recruiting strategy will likely reflect Chaykowsky’s emphasis on disciplined play and developmental growth.
