A Collaborative Soundtrack
The newest installment of EA Sports’ college football franchise features a soundtrack that was brought to life by a group of Nashville’s most promising student musicians.
More than 100 musicians from local colleges performed fight songs and pop covers, weaving the city’s musical heritage into the game’s audio landscape.
An unexpected ice storm forced several professional performers to cancel, opening the studio doors for actual students from Fisk, Belmont and Vanderbilt universities to step in and record.
Ryan Middagh, director of jazz studies at Vanderbilt’s Blair School of Music, said he felt a deep sense of pride watching his former and current students seize the opportunity.
Saxophonist Jeff Coffin, a longtime collaborator with the Dave Matthews Band and the game’s soundtrack architect since 2025, oversaw the sessions, blending collegiate energy with professional polish.
The resulting soundtrack is now streaming across platforms, giving listeners a chance to experience the blend of collegiate spirit and seasoned artistry.
Last year’s edition of College Football sold over a million copies in its first month, underscoring the franchise’s massive reach.
