Michael Busby has been appointed interim head coach of the SUNY Potsdam women's basketball program for the upcoming 2026‑27 season, taking the reins of a team he has helped shape for nearly a decade.
A Decade of Growth Within the Program
Having served as assistant coach from 2018 through 2024 and later as associate coach, Busby accumulated eight years of hands‑on experience that blended player development, recruiting, and fundraising. Under his guidance, several athletes earned All‑SUNYAC honors and crossed the 1,000‑point milestone, underscoring his impact on the program's competitive edge.
Busby's academic credentials further reflect his commitment to holistic student‑athlete growth. He holds a master's degree in management from SUNY Potsdam, a bachelor's degree in sport management from Cazenovia College, and an associate's degree in business administration from Jefferson Community College.
Vision for the Bears' Future
