A Summer Boost for Nashville’s Youth
A two‑day youth basketball camp is set to return to Nashville this summer, bringing together rising middle‑school students for intensive skill work, mentorship and wellness activities. The event is organized by Metro’s Police Activities League in collaboration with NBA forward Brandon Miller and will run June 26 and 27 at Cane Ridge High School.
The camp aims to serve more than 100 seventh‑ and eighth‑graders from across the city, providing basketball drills, scrimmages and guidance on nutrition and mental‑health. Participants will also receive one‑on‑one mentorship from community leaders, creating a holistic development experience that extends beyond the court.
Education and Opportunity
Central to the initiative is the Miller Scholars Program, which awards eligible students two years of full tuition coverage, a laptop and Wi‑Fi access. This scholarship links athletic opportunity with academic advancement, ensuring that participants have the tools to succeed in the classroom as well as on the court.
The partnership also connects families with broader educational pathways through Campus, a low‑cost college model that offers live online classes taught by faculty from institutions such as NYU, Stanford and Howard University. Campus focuses on helping students launch careers more quickly, providing a seamless transition from high school to higher education and professional life.
Registration information is available through the Team Miller Foundation website, where parents can enroll their children and learn more about scholarship criteria and camp logistics.
