A New Chapter for the Saints
Siena's men's soccer head coach, Graciano Brito, announced the signing of German midfielder Luca Wust for the upcoming season, emphasizing the player's blend of technical skill and seasoned leadership.
Wust, a native of Simmern, Germany, arrives after a standout tenure with TSV Schott Mainz, where he served as team captain and helped guide the side to several key victories in the Regionalliga and Oberliga.
During the U19 Bundesliga campaign, he started every one of his 25 appearances, showcasing his consistency and ability to control the midfield. His experience across multiple German youth and senior leagues provides a depth of tactical understanding that Brito believes will elevate the squad.
Beyond his on‑field contributions, Wust brings a maturity that stems from both athletic and entrepreneurial pursuits, a combination that Brito says will enrich the team's culture and work ethic.
The addition comes at a pivotal moment for Siena, which recently captured its first-ever conference championship and earned its inaugural NCAA Tournament berth, marking a historic milestone for the program.
Coach Brito expressed confidence that Wust's leadership and technical quality will be instrumental as the Saints look to translate their recent success into continued growth and competitiveness in the coming season.
