The University of Georgia announced that offensive coordinator Mike Bobo and defensive coordinator Glenn Schumann have each signed contract extensions that will keep them in Athens through January 2029.
Contract Extensions Through 2029
Both extensions run until January 2029 and guarantee annual salary increases that will bring each coordinator’s pay to $2.4 million by 2028. In addition, the agreements contain new language requiring the coordinators to discuss name, image and likeness opportunities with recruits and current players, reflecting the growing role of NIL deals in college football.
Performance Highlights
Georgia’s offense showed marked improvement in the 2025 season, averaging 32.1 points per game and ranking sixth in the SEC, while the rushing attack jumped from 124.4 to 182.1 yards per game. Quarterback Gunner Stockton, who began his first season under Bobo’s guidance, finished seventh in Heisman Trophy voting, underscoring the quarterback’s rapid development.
Schumann, now in his fourth year as defensive coordinator and a staff member since 2016, continues to shape a defense that has become a cornerstone of the Bulldogs’ recent success.
