Tri‑Cities Christian Academy announced the promotion of Josh Smith to head coach of its baseball program, entrusting the veteran mentor with shaping the next chapter of the school’s athletic identity.
A Coach With Deep Roots
Smith arrives after years of service as an assistant baseball coach and assistant athletic director, during which he helped guide the Eagles to two consecutive Virginia High School League championships in 2000 and 2001. A graduate of John S. Battle High School in Bristol, Virginia, he brings a blend of playing experience and administrative insight.
His coaching philosophy centers on character development, emphasizing Christian values alongside athletic excellence. Smith says the program will strive to cultivate discipline, teamwork and a personal relationship with faith.
Building a Competitive Future
The academy hopes to translate that vision into on‑field success, preparing a roster capable of contending in regional tournaments while maintaining academic and spiritual standards.
Located in the twin communities of Bristol, Virginia, and Blountville, Tennessee, the program draws talent from a diverse pool of student‑athletes eager to represent their hometown on the diamond.
Looking Forward
As the Eagles gear up for the upcoming season, Smith’s leadership is expected to energize both players and supporters, continuing a tradition of excellence that blends sport with stewardship.
