This pressure, he said, made it difficult to trust others with critical tasks, ultimately stalling the program’s offensive rhythm.
Injuries That Shaped a Season
DJ Lagway, the former Florida quarterback, traced his on‑field slump to a cascade of physical setbacks. He cited shoulder, groin and calf injuries that lingered throughout the campaign, eroding both his confidence and mental resilience.
The quarterback’s decline was starkly visible in two of the season’s most pivotal games. Against LSU he threw five interceptions, and a week later, in a matchup with Kentucky, he was pulled at halftime after three more picks, a moment that epitomized his struggle to find consistency.
Statistically, Lagway finished the year with 2,264 passing yards, 16 touchdowns and 14 interceptions, numbers that reflected a player caught between promise and persistent adversity.
After the 2024 season concluded, Lagway opted to transfer to Baylor, seeking a fresh environment where he could rebuild his career away from the shadows of the previous season’s setbacks.
