Youngstown State University’s baseball program is set to welcome aspiring players this summer with two distinct training opportunities.
The first event, a Youth Camp scheduled for August 5, targets children aged six through thirteen and emphasizes the fundamentals of hitting, defense, pitching and base running.
Youth Camp Details
Instruction will be divided into two age brackets — six to ten and eleven to thirteen — allowing coaches to tailor drills to developmental stages.
Participants are required to bring their own gloves, bats and protective gear, and the university assumes no responsibility for lost or damaged items.
The camp carries a fee of $122 per attendee, covering instruction, facility use and instructional materials.
Prospect Camp Overview
On September 20, the university will host a Fall Prospect Camp aimed at high school seniors, junior‑college athletes and advanced high‑school players.
The day‑long session includes a 60‑yard dash, position‑specific skill work, bullpen throws for pitchers and live batting practice, giving participants a realistic glimpse of collegiate competition.
Pricing varies by role: $191 for position players, $164 for pitchers and $212 for two‑way players, reflecting the specialized instruction each group receives.
Registration is open to all eligible athletes, though spaces are limited by age group and overall capacity.
