University of Richmond women's soccer head coach Adam Denton revealed the 2026 fall schedule, a comprehensive plan that blends exhibition play, non‑conference road trips, and a full Atlantic 10 slate.
A packed fall calendar
The season will consist of 18 regular‑season contests, ten of which will be played on the familiar turf of President's Field at River Road. The schedule opens with two exhibition matches before the team embarks on a three‑match homestand to start the official campaign.
Richmond's first test away from home comes on August 30, when the Spiders travel to face Mount St. Mary's. From there, the non‑conference slate will take the squad across the country, matching them against opponents from a variety of conferences.
Atlantic 10 play officially begins on September 20 with a road trip to George Washington. The conference schedule will feature the full ten‑game slate, ensuring a rigorous battle for positioning heading into the postseason.
A highlight of the home portion arrives on October 22, when crosstown rivals VCU will visit President's Field for the first time since 2022, promising an electric atmosphere for fans and players alike.
Coach Denton, now in his fourth season at the helm, guided the team to a 4‑7‑7 record in 2025. Despite the modest win total, the program made significant strides, highlighted by Emma Newman's historic selection to the Atlantic 10 All‑Rookie Team — the first such honor for the program since 2016.
Returning starters will look to build on that momentum. Veronica Rrapi posted a 0.88 goals‑against average, an .857 save percentage, 84 saves and six shutouts last season, while Morgane Zinn, Julia Lishia, Gwen Howell and Sydney Bortz are all set to contribute again.
The 2026 Atlantic 10 Women's Soccer Championship is slated for November 6‑7, with quarterfinal matches hosted by the highest seeds. The tournament will provide another opportunity for the Spiders to showcase their progress on a national stage.
