Man Charged with Attempted Murder After Late‑Night Shooting in Pennsauken

At about 11:15 p.m. on July 2, police responded to a report of gunfire on the 8900 block of Haddonfield Road in Pennsauken, New Jersey.

Investigators say the confrontation began as a physical fight between the suspect and a 27‑year‑old man, during which the suspect struck the victim with a baseball bat.

The dispute escalated when the suspect produced a firearm and shot the victim, who was later taken to Cooper University Hospital in Camden.

The victim arrived at the hospital in critical but stable condition, and doctors have since been monitoring his recovery.

Kalief Armstrong, 38, was arrested on July 7 and charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault and weapons offenses. He remains held pending a bail hearing.

Senior Detective Jason Roland of the prosecutor’s office and Pennsauken Police Detective Ryan Madden are urging anyone with information to come forward.
