Minnesota State Community and Technical College (M State) has named Dalton Parks as its new head baseball coach, effective mid‑August. Parks will also serve as a faculty member, teaching health and recreation courses while overseeing the strength and conditioning program for the baseball team.
Parks arrives after a distinguished coaching career that includes stints as head coach at the University of Maine at Fort Kent and as assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at the University of Minnesota Crookston. At UMF‑Fort Kent he led the program to its first ever wins, and during his four‑year tenure at Minnesota Crookston he helped the team post back‑to‑back 35‑win seasons.
His coaching résumé is complemented by academic credentials: a bachelor’s degree in sports management from Minnesota Crookston and a master’s degree in physical education from the University of West Alabama. Parks is also a National Strength and Conditioning Association‑certified personal trainer, underscoring his expertise in athlete development.
A Coach Who Values Teamwork and Discipline
Parks says his philosophy centers on teamwork, accountability and daily discipline. He aims to build strong relationships with players, foster a culture of togetherness and personal growth, and prepare student‑athletes for success both on the field and in the classroom.
M State President Carrie Brimhall praised Parks’ commitment to developing the whole student. “His strong coaching credentials and proven recruiting experience make him an ideal leader for our baseball program,” she said, noting that his focus on student development aligns with the college’s mission.
