WKU’s slate features home openers, road trips and a March championship in Alabama

Conference USA Announces 2026‑27 Men’s Basketball Schedule

Conference USA has officially released the complete 2026‑27 men’s basketball schedule, confirming that all ten member institutions will contest an 18‑game conference slate. The announcement, made public on Tuesday, sets the stage for a season that begins in late December and stretches through March, culminating in a championship tournament in Alabama.

Western Kentucky University opens its conference campaign on Dec. 31, traveling to Kennesaw, Georgia, to face Kennesaw State. The early‑season matchup marks the first of many tests for the Hilltoppers as they navigate a demanding road start.

WKU’s home conference slate gets underway on Jan. 7 with a contest against New Mexico State, and the team will enjoy a three‑game homestand in January, hosting Missouri State, Florida International University and Middle Tennessee State.

In February, the Hilltoppers embark on a two‑game road swing that takes them to Sam Houston State and back to New Mexico State, providing a chance to fine‑tune their play before the stretch run.

The regular season will wrap up with home games against Jacksonville State and Kennesaw State in March, giving WKU a chance to finish strong on its own floor.

All of these matchups lead into the 2027 Conference USA Championship, scheduled for March 9‑13 in Huntsville, Alabama, where the league’s top teams will converge to decide the champion.
