Former standout returns to lead baseball program
Jace Wilson, a 2019 graduate of Flagler Palm Coast High School, has been appointed head baseball coach, bringing a player‑turned‑mentor perspective to the program.
Wilson, who starred for the Commodores from 2015 through 2019 and posted a .311 average in his senior season, returns to Florida after stints at Daytona State and Young Harris before completing his college career at Tennessee Wesleyan, where he helped the team capture an NAIA national title and an Appalachian Athletic Conference Tournament championship in 2026.
In a statement released by the school, Wilson said he hopes to build on the championship culture that emphasizes discipline, accountability, hard work and academic excellence, aiming to develop student‑athletes both on the field and in the classroom.
The program finished the 2026 season with a 16‑11 record and reached the Class 7A regional quarterfinals, a milestone Wilson hopes to surpass in the coming years.
Athletic director Kyle Marsh praised Wilson’s deep connection to the school and his proven leadership, noting that his experience as a player and coach equips him to guide the next generation of Commodores.
Wilson will officially begin his duties this summer, with plans to implement a development model that blends rigorous training with academic support, reinforcing the school’s commitment to holistic student growth.
