Keiser University announced this week that Vincent Miszkiewicz has joined the men's basketball program as an assistant coach, a move that underscores the school's commitment to blending on‑court expertise with academic excellence.
A Promising Coaching Addition
Head coach Marcus Bryant praised the new hire, highlighting Miszkiewicz's dual reputation as a scholar and a competitor. Bryant noted that the former standout player brings a deep understanding of the game and a track record of leadership that should translate into immediate impact for the current roster.
Miszkiewicz's basketball journey took him from the hardwoods of Finland's first‑division club Kipina Aanekoski to the professional ranks of the Chicago Sky, where he contributed to the team's development efforts alongside star center Kamilla Cardoso. In Europe he averaged 11.6 points and 12.1 rebounds per game, a testament to his versatility and work ethic.
Before turning to coaching, Miszkiewicz retired from his playing career earlier than expected, a decision driven by a desire to give back to the sport that shaped him. His final season abroad saw him post 14.4 points and 13.5 rebounds per game while leading the NAIA in blocks, a statistical highlight that caught the attention of several collegiate programs.
At Keiser, Miszkiewicz will draw on his experience as a two‑time NAIA All‑American and consecutive First‑Team All‑Sun Conference selection. Over his collegiate tenure he set program records for rebounds and double‑digit performances, earning accolades at Purdue University Northwest, the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee and the University of the Incarnate Word.
A graduate of the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee with a bachelor's degree in communications, Miszkiewicz recently completed a master's in sports management and operations from Keiser in 2025. He expressed gratitude for the opportunity, stating his intention to help student‑athletes excel both on the court and in the classroom.
Looking Ahead
The hiring reflects Keiser's broader strategy to build a competitive yet academically rigorous program. With Miszkiewicz on staff, the university hopes to leverage his international perspective and proven rebounding instincts to elevate the team's performance in the upcoming season.
