Kentucky Football Bolsters Coaching Ranks with Strategic Appointments

New staff members bring experience and fresh perspectives to the Wildcats' quest for continued growth

A coordinated effort to strengthen the roster

Will Stein, the head coach of the University of Kentucky football team, is reshaping the program’s infrastructure by expanding its staff to meet the demands of modern college football.

Dillon Sanders is returning to the Wildcats as an assistant inside linebackers coach, taking over from Chad Wilt. Sanders previously served in a defensive role at Kentucky from 2016 to 2018, giving him a deep familiarity with the program’s schemes.

Rob Snyder has joined the staff as an assistant defensive line coach. He will work closely with former player Mi’Quise Humphrey‑Grace, bringing a blend of on‑field experience and coaching acumen from stops at South Dakota, Nicholls and LSU.

Leah Barnard has been promoted to assistant director of recruiting, where she will oversee logistics and the coordination of official visits, streamlining the process for prospective players.

John “Hova” Herron has been appointed as acquisition coordinator, a role that will centralize player acquisition efforts and manage the team’s strategy in the transfer portal. Herron’s extensive background, most recently at Texas and Louisville, is expected to add depth to the Wildcats’ roster building.
