McNeese State University announced that Justin Hill, the winningest baseball coach in school history, has signed a four‑year contract extension that will keep him at the helm of the Cowboys through the next several seasons.
Since taking over the program, Hill has transformed the team into a consistent contender, guiding the Cowboys to three league titles, including regular‑season championships in 2017 and 2022, and tournament crowns in 2019 and 2021.
The recent season marked the fifth time in seven years that Hill and his staff led the squad to the Southland Conference Championships Series, underscoring the program’s sustained competitiveness.
In a statement, Hill expressed deep gratitude for the unwavering support he has received from the McNeese community, noting that the extension reflects a shared vision for continued success on and off the field.
He specifically thanked President Michael Reese, Director of Athletics Bridget Martin, and Deputy AD Matt Fontenot for their trust and confidence in his leadership, and he acknowledged the collaborative effort of coaches, support staff, and student‑athletes that makes the program thrive.
