Ayuba Bryant Jr., a 6‑9 forward known for his scoring versatility, has officially joined the University of North Florida men’s basketball team, adding a new dimension to the Osprey roster.
The recruit arrives after a season at Temple University where he appeared in 27 games, logging 1.8 points and 1.6 rebounds in just over eight minutes per contest, numbers that belie the impact he had in other leagues.
International Experience Sets Him Apart
In France, Bryant Jr. suited up for JL Bourgen‑Bresse in the LNB Pro‑A under‑21 division, where he posted averages of 13.5 points, 4.9 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.7 steals over 28 appearances, showcasing his ability to influence the game on both ends of the floor.
His international résumé includes stints with Belgium’s senior under‑20 side, highlighted by a 20‑point outing in the semifinal against Slovenia at the 2024 U20 European Championships, where he averaged 13.3 points and 5.3 rebounds across seven games.
Bryant Jr. will now link up with a group that already features transfers Eddie Placer, Elijah Elliott and Hedrens ‘Jr’ Bartelus, as well as high‑school recruits Isaiah Brown, Christopher Perry and Asa Kohn, creating a deep and competitive squad.
Coaches say his size, shooting range and defensive instincts should help the Ospreys contend for conference titles, while his experience on the European stage adds a global perspective to the program.
The addition of Bryant Jr. underscores the university’s growing appeal to elite talent from across the Atlantic, a trend that could reshape the team’s identity in the coming seasons.
